The letters that become their childhood story.

While You Are Little is a monthly guided letter-writing kit that helps parents preserve the stories and little details of their child's early years.

Each month, a guided writing prompt helps you write a letter to your child about who they are right now — from the newborn days through the toddler years and beyond.

One day, they'll read those letters and discover a childhood they were too little to remember for themselves. Your voice, your words, your handwriting. A journal for you now, a keepsake for them later.

Perfect for newborns, infants, and toddlers

What's Included Each Month

The baby journal records what they did. Your letters will tell them who they are. Preserve the years they won't remember, during the moments that are shaping who they'll become.

Letter Prompt Card

A thoughtful, guided writing prompt to help you begin –– with a new prompt each month that evolves with your child, capturing who they are at each stage of early childhood.

Illustrated Art Print

A new print each month, changing with the seasons as your child grows, reflecting the symbiotic journeys of parenthood and childhood.

Heirloom Writing Paper

Premium 120 GSM ivory cream writing paper — acid-free, lignin-free, and archival-grade. Designed to last, so the words you write today are still there when they're ready to read them.

Reflection Card

A new passage, observation, or reflection each month for this early childhood season of parenthood — words to help settle you in before the letter begins.

Memory Photo Card

A dedicated space to attach a photo from the month — so someday they can see exactly who they were when their letter was written.

Keepsake Envelope

An archival envelope that holds it all together, waiting for the day they're ready to read what's inside.

Easier to finish than a baby book.

How It Works

| Receive
Each month, a complete letter kit arrives — a thoughtfully curated prompt, heirloom quality writing paper, an illustrated art print, a reflection card, a photo page, and everything else you need to get started. No prep. No planning. No guesswork.

| Reflect
Find your prompt and take a few moments to settle in. Your reflection card and art illustration are there to ease you into the writing. The prompts themselves fall under five themes: milestones, the present, future hopes, wisdom + guidance, and identity + affirmation.

| Write
Begin and complete at your own pace. When finished, slide it into the keepsake envelope. With each letter you save, you're building an irreplaceable memory journal of who they were when they were little — told in your voice, using your words, preserved in your handwriting.

Once finished, seal it in the keepsake envelope and store it safely — until the day it's theirs to open.

  • "The most meaningful thing in our mailbox."

One of our favorite activities each month. My husband and I take turns writing the letters now, and it's become something we can't wait to do.

    Madison R., Austin, TX

  • "I bought it as a gift and ended up getting one myself."

I got this for my sister when her daughter was born. She absolutely loved it and I signed up for my own son the next day.

    Hannah E., San Diego, CA

  • "Something I've actually kept up with."

I had a baby book that I filled in actively for the first 3 months, then life happened and I never opened it again. My daughter just turned one, and these letters are something I've been able to stick with.
