Any age throughout early childhood is perfect. The prompts capture stages as early as newborn and extend through the toddler years and beyond. We began when our own children were 2 and 3.

You'll still receive all the prompts regardless of when you start, and they provide enough flexibility to feel present and honest whether you're writing about moments from the past, what's happening right now, or your hopes for the future.

The monthly subscription spans 60 letters (5 years), providing a complete arc of early childhood. Given that children's autobiographical memory doesn't fully stabilize until age 5, these letters become their story from the years they won't naturally remember.

We understand though that life happens, so you can always pause or cancel at any point. Start when you're ready, stop if you need to. No questions asked. Just email help@whileyouarelittle.com.

Absolutely. Although we hope you'll complete the full arc of letters, we understand that life happens and circumstances change. Feel free to pause or cancel your subscription at anytime. Simply email help@whileyouarelittle.com and we'll take care of you.

They do not. In order to reduce the cost to you, we cover the cost of shipping, and send via USPS First Class mail. Letter kits typically arrive within 3–5 business days (U.S.), or 1–3 weeks (International).

You'll receive a new letter kit each month, containing a fresh prompt, illustrated art print, reflection card, and everything else you need to write. Kits ship in batches on a weekly basis, so you'll be able to get started soon after subscribing –– setting you into a nice rhythm — one letter a month, a small ritual that feels manageable and meaningful.

We strive to ensure that every letter kit arrives in perfect condition. If yours is damaged during shipping, simply contact us (help@whileyouarelittle.com) within 10 days of delivery with a photo of the damage, and we'll send you a replacement at no cost. If it is lost, we will also send a replacement out to you at no cost.

Absolutely. Many of our customers purchase While You Are Little as a gift for new parents, baby showers, or growing families. Simply enter the recipient's shipping address at checkout, and we'll send each monthly letter kit directly to them.

Absolutely. A few of the prompts are shown on the product checkout page. There are five general themes: the present, identity + affirmation, memories, guidance + emotional support, and the future. Some will have you reflect on everyday moments, while others encourage you to share family traditions, life lessons, hopes for the future, or the little things you never want to forget. Each prompt is unique, and they grow with your child as they develop, making it easy to build a meaningful collection of letters over time.
